It’s been awhile but I know why, looking over some older anime that aren’t old, but have since been forgotten about basically over time. Mikagura School Suite is one such anime that’s been forgotten.

The light novel that was run from July 25, 2013 – August 25, 2016 as well as a manga run that came out July 13, 2013 – February 15, 2016 gave birth to an anime ahead of its time.

Seisa Mikagura was no pushover in this anime.

The anime came out in 2015, April 6th and finished the run on June 22, 2015. But that was it for the series that took magical girls and the magical anime genre to a new level.

The anime centered on Eruna Ichinomiya a third-year junior high student who didn’t have a plan on which high school to attend. Until she was captivated by a photo of Seisa Mikagura in a pamphlet for Mikagura Private Academy, given to her by her cousin, Shigure Ninomiya.

The thing about Mikagura Private Academy was that it wasn’t a normal school but only cultural clubs exist and students with special powers fight as representatives of clubs. It was a definite turn that was needed in the anime world that, around that time, featured a lot of the same redundant animes.

There were some issues with the anime having discrepancies in the plot but they weren’t too big of an issue that it subtracted from the series.

It’s worth the watch if you’re interested in a yuri anime.
