Three new stars debut in an unofficial fashion tonight.
As announced by a live stream hosted by the NBA 2K League, the Hawks Talon Gaming Club will compete in the first round of the NBA 2K League ‘Three For All Showdown’.
This places the Hawks Talon GC against Team Savage. Team Savage features Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice.
The bracket has the Talon playing at 10 p.m. tonight. The tournament features WNBA and G League players, special guests, pro athletes and the top fan teams from last week’s bracket and some of the top 2K League players.
“We’re excited for our players to compete in this showdown,” said Hawks Talon GC Head Coach Wesley Acuff said in a release. “While we stay at home and practice social distancing, it’s important that we stay connected, and we are thrilled to have an opportunity to share this virtual stage.”
Hawks Talon GC’s starting three features players making their unofficial debut with the club.
Acquired in a trade this past offseason, Michael Diaz-Cruz, known as Bp, will play as xXBptzFinestXx. He was a finalist for the 2019 Intel Performance NBA 2K League Most Valuable Player Award after being drafted third overall in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft.
Joining him are Levi Lamb, known as Lee, will play as Lee2k__, and Kwan Niblack, Jr., known as followTHEGOD, will play as IKerryL.
Both of which were drafted in the NBA 2K League Draft on Feb. 22.
“My teammates and I are excited to have an opportunity to compete together,” said Diaz-Cruz in a press release. “We want to give the city of Atlanta and our fans a team that they can support during this time.”
All series aside from the final rounds of each bracket will be played in best-of-three format with the final round matchups being best-of-five.
The NBA 2K League’s first-ever ‘Three for All Showdown’ includes a $25,000 prize pool; $15,000 is available to the non-NBA 2K League teams in the second stage, $9,000 is available to the NBA 2K League teams and $1,000 available to the winners of the fan only brackets in the first stage.
